What is a guarantee?

By issuing a guarantee, Euler Hermes undertakes to fulfil an obligation on your behalf to a third party if you do not meet your commitment.

A third party (the beneficiary) may request a guarantee in order to be certain that you will fulfil your contractual or legal obligations. The beneficiary may be a company, a government or an individual. Some guarantees form part of the contract terms negotiated by the beneficiary, while others may be required by law, such as customs bonds or Breyne Act guarantees.
